Multi-level marketing is a business strategy which the sales force compensate from their personally generates and people they recruit. By creating a downline and hierarchy of multiple levels compensation. Some of us called it Network Marketing, Pyramid Selling and 'SpiderWeb'. 

Normally, the products are sell directly to the people they know by means of relationship thru word of mouth marketing. MLM is not direct selling as some people equate MLM with direct selling.
